CANBERRA: Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is at his wit’s end wondering how he has to change to gain the respect of some of this nation’s most respected and admired media opinionistas.

“He’s very, very hurt, by the most recent claims that there are not only clowns in his government but that his entire Cabinet is an “absolute farce”, our insider in the prime minister’s office admitted.

“It was bad enough when a few days ago he was given both barrels by Paul Murray who told his Sky LNPNews Australia viewer that the Albanese government was “not fair dinkum” as they wanted a surplus so they can tell Australians to “trust us when it comes to the economy”.

The latest stinging rebuke has also come from Sky LNPNews Australia, via another of its hosts Rowan Dean who levelled both claims mentioned above, saying “clowns in the Albanese government were running the show” and the Albanese Cabinet was an “absolute farce’.

“They launch ‘Made in Australia’ as one after another, the dominoes come tumbling down around us,” Dean thundered.

“Manufacturing ceases to exist in this country because we can’t afford the energy.

“That’s what you’ve done, Labor; that’s what you’ve done, Bowen – you’ve done it to us.”

The PM office insider said a lesser man than Albanese would probably have quit immediately following such criticism but “I guess you’ve got to admire his decision to take a deep, deep, breath and just carry on regardless”.

“That’s taken some spunk considering the respect and aura Dean has cultivated over time through his astute and professional observations of the nation’s body politic.”
