News overnight that genocidal mass-murderer Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that Israeli citizens will be allowed to settle in the Gaza Strip – presumably the nicest bits by the ocean in luxury gated communities – has prompted this look at our archival pieces on the Israeli/Gaza war.
While this nation’s other alleged satire publications tried their worst, The Bug very early on did its hard-hitting, offensive, best by stating two obvious realities that didn’t require rocket surgery to come to; firstly, that to minimise its own defence losses, Israel would raze the Gaza Strip one half at a time with not a single concern as to how many innocent people, especially kids, they killed.
The second sad fact of life – once again requiring no great skill because Netanyahu has repeatedly stated it – Israel has never had any interest whatsoever in the two-state solution that our Penny Wong has all of a sudden found a stronger commitment to.
Several Bug articles from October and very early this year ran the fake – well, it was fake then – real estate ads (below) for what Israel has always intended for the Gaza Strip that they have ruthlessly controlled these past few decades.
We can at least take heart from Netanyahu’s overnight comments that Israel at least won’t be killing all million Palestinians sheltering in and around Rafah.
These new Israeli residents in their lovely ocean villas will need house servants, drivers, pool cleaners, cooks … those sorts of people who will travel to work daily from their slums in the west of New South Israel.
