Brisbane impresario Vince Agarol says he is now free to premiere his new stage musical based on the Bruce Lehrmann defamation trial following Justice Michael Lee’s ruling in the Federal Court in Sydney yesterday.
The songwriter and theatrical entrepreneur best known for his as-yet-unproduced one-man stage show Poo Jogger: The Musical said the only roadblock to the first performance of his latest work One Big Shit Show was a suitable theatrical venue.
“I have been staging full dress rehearsals (main picture) at a local sewage farm and, pending some very minor rewrites to take account of Justice Lee’s decision, the show is ready to go,” Mr Agarol said.
He said his efforts to stage Poo Jogger, starring himself in the lead role and based on the notorious jogger who emptied his bowels in southside Brisbane driveways before being caught in 2018 (below), had been “on the backburner” while he wrote and arranged his new Lehrmann-based show.
“Just as I did with Poo Jogger I have written and scored the whole new show myself and once again I’ve decided to use real human faeces on stage,” he said.

“I feel this gives the audience, and indeed the cast, an authentic experience and in the case of One Big Shit Show, will evoke the very essence of the just-ended defamation trial.
“As I’ve always maintained, there’s not a lot of difference between defamation and defecation.
“I should know after my experiences suing a number of theatre critics over the years who have reviewed my works and declared them to be total shit.
“Unfortunately, they have relied on truth as a defence and the judges have all agreed. But that is a burden I must bear.”
Mr Agarol said he was still hoping to secure a theatre in Brisbane that would allow him to install temporary plumbing to divert their sewer lines to the stage.
“I’m negotiating with several venues and hope to sign one up very soon,” he said.
“So hopefully it won’t be too long before guests are strolling the brown carpet on opening night,” Mr Agarol said.
