X marks the spot for good and evil!

Before this column concentrates on the terrible events in Sydney at the weekend, our Xcreta-of-the-Week judges thought we as a nation could do with a little cheering up before hand.

So we salute Deb Spillane (top and below) for her wonderful little dig at Barnaby Joyce.

Cheryl Kernot also had a jibe at the Beetrooter, also in response to a very witty Finnigans.

Okay, we’ve put it off long enough. The weekend tragedy that has truly saddened a nation and left so, so, many families permanently damaged has to be addressed.

Our judges looked through the best and the worse of what Xers had to say about the mass murders in Bondi Junction.

So let’s lead off with Ronni Salt’s description of absolute grace and mercy shown by the family of the killer.

Our judges have no intention of running the worst of what appeared on X after Saturday’s loss of six innocent lives but will instead concentrate on posts that tipped buckets of shit on those bigoted, racist, right-wing nutjobs who sought to do as much damage to our reputation as a fine, decent, multicultural society.

Let’s hear first from Chris, etc, etc Free Palestine who summed up matters as well as anybody.

As did Belinduh Pyne.

Conservatives is one word for them, Belinduh.

We also salute the many other Xers who well and truly put those dreadful trolls back in their box. Take it away, Rupert’s Conscience, PRGuy, Tom the whistleblower MK2 and David Milner.

….and JayJay roped Peter Dutton into the mix with this wry, sarcastic, observation.

… while Mike Carlton pleaded with the SMH to do the right thing.

TO BE CONTINUED: Tomorrow, Peter Dutton cops much flak over his Port Arthur comments. And the usual buckets tipped on pollies and others.
