A Saturday gooder than most

The column that has fun with the smaller mistakes and missteps of Australia’s mainstream mediocre; that pays homage to those sweet little fishes that individually don’t amount to a full meal but collectively can cause a tummy upset over the overall state of the once great and noble craft of journalism in this country.

It’s good to know that there’s one Saturday each year that’s gooder than all the others.

Is there a role for AI at The Guardian Australia?

Perhaps some artificial intelligence might have picked up the spelling error in the story below a lot earlier than a human did.

From the time stamp on the story it seems it was uploaded at midnight Sunday.

The screenshot above was taken at 9.30am Monday and the correction did not appear until not long before 2.00pm.

We include this item from The Australian’s upmarket Wish magazine aimed at very high income earners not so much as a mistake, but more as social commentary.

The headline is clearly a bit of an in-joke by someone at The Oz because let’s face it, they, we, and our reader know full well that none of these new $122,250 vehicles will ever go anywhere near “off road”, unless their polo club has an unsealed driveway.
