ADELAIDE: Shadow foreign minister Simon Birmingham remains in a private hospital here suffering from severe depression after his appearance on the ABC’s Insiders program yesterday morning.

Birmingham collapsed as he left the broadcaster’s Adelaide studios yesterday morning when he realised that the length of his interview with host David Speers had not given him the opportunities he needed to mention anywhere near enough times Hamas’s murderous raid and killing spree into Israel on October 6 and why the terrorist organisation was totally responsible for everything that has happened in Gaza since.

The Bug spoke to a nurse at the hospital who told us on the basis of anonymity: “The poor man keeps lapsing in and out of consciousness, muttering that Israel has a right to defend itself and if a million Palestine citizens get slaughtered when Israel finally launches its attack on Rafah, shit like that happens in war’.

“He keeps muttering that while the terrorist organisation Hamas is fully committed to the destruction of Israel, all Israel has ever wanted to do is live in harmony and peace with its Palestinian fellow-citizens in Gaza and the West Bank.”
