MEDIA NEWS:
US media mogul Rupert Murdoch is believed to be planning a flying visit to Australia to oversee the sacking of Chris Jones, editor of his Brisbane daily turdbloid The Courier-Mail.
A source within News Crap Australia familiar with the plan said 93-year-old Mr Murdoch’s personal corporate jet LNP Won (main picture) was being prepared at a private airfield near New York to make the non-stop 15,500km flight.
“Rupert doesn’t like sacking editors so he gets someone else to do it, but he enjoys watching while it happens,” the source said.
“In this case Rupert has been reading with approval from afar the blanket coverage Jones has been pumping out through The Courier-Mail tearing strips off the Queensland Labor Party government of Premier Steven Miles.
“Until very recently Rupert has been making it known that Jones was destined for bigger things solely on the basis of how he had been able to generate an ongoing editorial line attacking Premier Miles for not splurging billions of dollars on a new 2032 Olympic Games stadium at a time most people are struggling themselves every day to make ends meet.
“Rupert thought it was a brilliant tactic to have the Courier attack Miles for not spending big on a stadium, while also acknowledging that the paper would have also mercilessly pilloried Miles if had decided to preference a stadium over cost-of-living relief.
“It’s the sort of sneaky, hypocritical tactic Rupert loves. Probably more than near-septuagenarian women.
“But unfortunately, Chris Jones overstepped the mark with a Courier-Mail editorial last week that argued Miles should use a hefty slice of the State Budget in May to commit at least $3.4 billion to a new stadium. (below)

“The editorial made the case that the $3.4 billion cost would be a ‘blip’ compared with the Budget’s $87 billion revenue base.
“When Rupert read that he knew Jones had to go because he figured someone somewhere might start making the argument that News Crap Australia could afford to build the stadium itself given that the company is supposedly profitable and part of an international corporate group raking in at least US$10 billion a year.
“Rupert himself and his nepo-baby kids could also foot the bill themselves if it came to that.
“So unfortunately, Chris Jones has to go before someone puts two and two together,” the source said.
