The Dunkley election aftermath, Peter Dutton going full nuclear and the Opposition’s “Ute Tax” campaign all made for a tough task for our Xcreta-of-the-Week judges.
But they finally settled on JayJay’s nice little meme – at top and below – that they thought best summed up the Opposition Leader’s priorities in both life and politics.
Besides, we have to do something to try to balance the almost universal decision over the past week by this nation’s lamentable mainstream mediocre that it was only Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Labor who had serious lessons to learn from their win in Dunkley last Saturday week. For Dutts, it was a solid win apparently, keeping him well on track for Lodgedom.

PRGuy had exactly the same feelings…

Helping us to move on to those other topics du week, CaraMia200 paints a lovely picture of the unlovely Gina Rinehart wailing into her silk pillow nightly.

So what political advantage does Peter Dutton think he can exploit by apparently ditching mini nuclear reactors all over the place and touting for some really large ones?
Dr Stephanie Dowrick Joins calls for PEAC and Geoff Kitney at the very least saw some method in Dutton’s madness…

Peter Murphy had a very believable suggestion as to why Dutton has gone full nuclear, while Gary Fallon thought he knew who Dutton’s nuclear experts are.

As it turns out, that nuclear debate and emissions targets for vehicles dominated Chris Bowen’s appearance on the ABC Insiders program on Sunday.
And seeing any of The Bug’s Xcrements of the Week reviews would be incomplete without a David Speers shit-on, let’s hear from Sahar Adatia.

stranger liked Bowen’s “tell him he’s dreaming” on Insiders over Opposition spokesperson Ted O’Brien’s claim that these large nuclear power plants could be up and running within a decade of the LNP regaining power….

Mike Carlton provided a great meme on Dutton and the Opposition’s nuclear plans.

As did blakand black, who also looked to the firmament for this clever meme….

… while Rupert’s Conscience reckoned he knew what all this nuclear/ute tax malarkey is all about.

On the car-emissions issue, we’ll give PRGuy a second Xcrement drop on the federal opposition generally, while Daniel Best – Author doesn’t miss a “journo” who picked up and ran with the LNP’s “ute tax” line. The Bug agrees that any “journo” who does that, with intent or otherwise, is more an LNP publicist than a scribe.

Before we leave such issues completely, we’d be totally remiss not to run with multi-Walkley winner and highly respected retired journo who still packs a mighty punch Tony Koch, with his view on how we should handle Peter Dutton.

And maybe we should have finished with something light and funny to help us through the day but we won’t. Here’s the wonderful Coalition Tea Lady on Joe Biden’s pathetic attempt to recapture votes in those rare non-Zionist parts of the US with a scheme to save the lives of Palestinians being starved to death in Gaza with his country’s help.

We love it each time CTL calls a genocide for what it is. A GENOCIDE!
