The Liberal Party wasted no time this week splurging on expensive full-page, front-page advertisements attacking the Albanese Government’s plans to amend legislated tax cuts for high-income earners.
The advertisements, either filling page one in some News Crap Australia metro turdbloids or covering almost two pages on inside news pages, have pushed out the usual Harvey Norman promotions that usually take the premium positions. (main picture)
Our Media Glass House teams note that an apparent oversight in the production process means none of the advertisements is labelled as such.
They say the mistake means readers of News Crap Australia publications may mistakenly think the Liberal Party ads are actually editorial content.
But, as one of our senior MGH team members said: “It’s clear that they are political ads placed by the Liberals Party because their content and headlines are blatantly anti-Labor and pro-Liberal.
“We just hope News Crap Australia corrects the oversight and clearly brands them as advertisements if the Libs seek to run more of them in future editions.”

Our MGH teams declare they can set their watches, or perhaps calendars, by the annual publication of stories about Aussie actors or other fillum industry talents being “snubbed” in the nominations lists for Academy Awards.
It has happened again with the list of nominees for the 2023 Oscars being released in Hollywood this week.
Media outrage followed, especially about the “snub” of the Aussie-born Margot Robbie in the best actress category for her lead role in the popular Barbie movie. (below)

Our MGH researchers say they are always amused at this time of year by such yarns.
Why, they argue, is anyone anywhere outside the USA surprised when the Americans who dominate membership of the American-based Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and whose votes decide Oscar winners, lean towards rewarding Americans at the Academy Awards which essentially have always been the American Film Awards?

Editorialising in supposedly objective “news” stories appears to be running rampant at News Crap Australia’s daily Sydney turdbloid The Daily Telegraph.
Recently the Albanese Government was accused of being tardy in formally declaring the October killings by Hamas of innocent Israelis as a terrorist incident, a move that would enable some Australians to access support payments available only to people affected by overseas terrorist attacks.
The Daily Tele’s treatment of the story blatantly accused the government of being anti-Semitic (below) by declaring as a matter of fact that Labor “is” refusing to help the Jewish people affected.
Not that Labor “is accused of” not helping, but a statement of fact that it “is” not helping them.

Then in the past few days as the Australia Day “debate” played out, the Tele rolled out the “treason” word in a story about those individuals or groups or businesses that are no longer so infatuated with the idea of a national knees-up on 26 January.

It seems nobody at News Crap Australia sees an ethical problem. Or wants to see one.
They might well do so if someone could explain the meaning of ethics to them.
