Tim Arvier still critical

QUEENSLAND POLITICS:

BRISBANE: Nine News Brisbane state political editor Tim Arvier remains in a private hospital here suffering chronic depression after the resignation of state Transport Minister Mark Bailey.

Arvier returned to consciousness briefly to tell The Bug by video phone earlier this morning: “I had countless stories lined up – day after day, week after week, right up to election day next October – for every time he tried to fudge or hide infrastructure project cost blowouts.

“I loved it when he though his best response to such incompetence was to shout in Parliament: “I’m Bailey the Builder!”

We told Arvier it was indeed a lot of fun but even a cat playing with a mouse finally ends the torture by eating the poor thing.

“I know it was wrong but it was fun, wasn’t it?”

We had to agree it was all good political sport and Bailey was indeed easy prey but then Arvier’s face changed and the black dog grabbed hold of him again.

“It’s over, isn’t it? I had only just got started.

“At least I’ve still got that LNP front Voice for Victims mob and their endless claims of spiralling out-of-control youth crime,” he said moments before slipping back into unconsciousness.
