…one deadly blast at a time!

Everyone at The Bug – and not just our Xcreta-of-the-Week judges – was shocked at how easily this nation’s lamentable mainstream mediocre totally missed the big world news of the past week.
It was when Israel declared that all Palestinians in the bottom half of Gaza needed to leave immediately for their own safety. (Egypt? The world? Who cares!) Without using such words, the message was clear: the Israel Defence Forces are about to raze the bottom half of Gaza to minimise troop loses, just like they’ve now just about completed in the top half.
Read: get out now because we’re going to clear Gaza of Palestinians.
And maybe to show just how easy that’s going to be, our Xcreta judges picked the meme (at top and below) from It’s Time.

While The Bug is very comfortable with the word “genocide” being used to describe what the IDF has been doing in Gaza since early October, some weasel words from the ABC’s managing director David Anderson certainly led to some Xcrement being plopped on his head.
Take it away, The Big Ship and MFW…

The Bug‘s own view: Anderson is probably only stating the obvious as a news presenter but the basic sentiment at the the heart of the Xcretas shown above – and many others – is that the ABC hasn’t even been prepared to report openly and fairly on the many claims of genocide being made to describe exactly what’s been happening in Gaza.
That the ABC suspects Australia is as Zionist as it is racist and that it fears reporting such genocide claims would lead to Aunty being accused of being antisemitic and a holocaust denier to boot.
By the way, in light of Israel’s “get the fuck out of southern Gaza or die” edict, The Bug thinks the following definition of genocide is a pretty apt one and perfectly describes what’s happening right now in Gaza.

Heck, on second thoughts, maybe The Big Ship and MFW are fucking spot on, David Anderson is a deadset goose and more of Aunty’s Middle East reporters should be calling a spade a spade, or in this case a genocide a genocide. There’s certainly been enough wars crimes being committed.
Also on the Israel/Hamas “war” were Coalition Tea Lady and Ronnie Salt in conversation….

… while Laurie Ferguson, Ron Baumann and Mike Carlton also hit their own respective targets with far greater precision than the IDF has been doing to date.

Let’s have a break. It’s all far too depressing. But before we go, let’s wish Palestine well in its World Cup football qualifier against the Socceroos early Wednesday morning our time in Kuwait.
It might be hard to concentrate knowing that their homeland – Gaza and the West Bank – will probably no longer be their homeland for much longer if Israel has its way. Genocidal way, David Anderson?
Let’s call on Michael J. Wyllie and Pup Fiction to have some fun with two of the finest Liberal prime ministers this country has been lucky to have.

On politics generally, Jackie Hansard reminded us of some very salient and wise words of Laura Tingle that seem to be ringing truer and truer as time goes by, and Rick served it up to David Crowe, who The Bug suspects is quickly reverting to form after appearing almost decent during the Voice referendum campaign.

Right, enough then! Let’s go down to Victoria and a couple of news yarns that gave Excretas out there a chance to dump on the local mainstream mediocre, and especially the Herald-Hun.
Rohan Connolly and Dan Fan Girl couldn’t resist a dig at the glee being shown by the LNP’s public relations outfit after former Premier Daniel Andrews apparently got a rebuff from a golf club.

And on the subject of the Mulgrave by-election at the weekend to elect Andrews’ replacement, Dean Rosario presented a sobering graph which should have taken the wind out of the sails of the Herald-Hun and the Victorian Liberal Party.

While it’s true that Dean’s graph doesn’t show the elections inbetween where Andrews built up his support and a formidable two-party preferred lead and indeed does not mention a sizable drop in primary votes for Labor on Saturday, neither does he mention that the Labor candidate did finish with 57 per cent of the 2PP vote and because the drop in Labor’s primary vote went mainly to the Greens and other centre/left groups – wait for it! – the Liberal Party – on 41 per cent primary back in 2014 – didn’t even make it to the 2PP this time. Ouch!
If the Victorian Libs and its media publicist want to make a song and dance over that, well, good luck to them. Daryll Kerrigan would tell them that they’re dreamin’.
