CORRECTION:
The Bug wishes to correct an earlier Melbourne Cup preview story we published suggesting former deputy prime minister and former National Party leader, Barnaby Joyce, had indicated he was putting a lot of money on Sheraz this morning.
Following publication of our now-deleted story Mr Joyce’s office contacted The Bug to say his remarks had nothing to do with the Melbourne Cup.
