EDITORIAL:
With nine odd days to go to The Voice referendum day – and there’s been a lot of odd days over recent months – The Bug proudly launches its own concentrated campaign in the hope that Australia will not embarrass itself on the world stage with the decision it makes on Saturday week.
We’re calling it the TOTAL SHITHEADS campaign, because, frankly, we’ve never heard so much shit spewing out of the mouths of the main No! campaigners and we reckon that only true SHITHEADS could spew forth that amount of putrid effluent like the busted intake valve at a very large, city, sewage works.
The long and bitter campaign has been … sorry, Ned Ryerson… what would you call it…
…oh, that’s right! A DOOZEY!
Joseph Goebbels would be blushing in his grave over the antics of the No campaign from the get-go: namely, to brazenly and continually accuse the other side of exactly what you are guilty of yourself.
Call the Yes people racist and divisive when you’re doing your very best to dog-whistle to the large block of racists that sadly infects this country still.
Oh, and lie your tits off. And oh what shitty lies have gushed from the shameless gobs of the No people!
The second main strand of the No campaign – based on the reality that referendums rarely get up without bi-partisan support – was to “politicise” the issue. An idea nurtured and developed by a thousand First Nations people was no such thing! The Voice was Labor’s Voice. Albanese’s Voice. Canberra’s Voice. The Voice of Elitists. All bullshit but, heck, what role can the truth possibly play when there might be a vote in it down the track for Dutton’s mob if the Voice goes down!
So, in the short time left, The Bug on its various social mediocre sites will post collective and individual TOTAL SHITHEAD memes poking much fun at LNP fibbery, from leaders past and present, and the mainstream mediocre – it would be an insult to the craft of journalism to call them media – that has cravenly pushed the No case’s litany of lies.
