Loyan fans of injured Melbourne Storm player Ryan Papenhuyzen have flooded the ABC’s switchboards with bitter complaints following stinging criticism of the player from Offsiders panelist Catherine Murphy this morning (above).
Switchboard operators at Aunty’s various media centres around the nation copped plenty of heated abuse and some unfortunate obscene language following Murphy’s criticism of the Storm fullback who suffered a multiple ankle break in Storm’s NRL qualifying final loss to the Brisbane Broncos on Friday night.
The fans all praised Papenhuyzen’s standard of play and general performance in all three games since his comeback from a previous major kneecap injury that had sidelined him for well over a year.
Their defence of their popular, blonde mulleted, player came after Murphy poured shit on him not long into this morning’s Offsiders broadcast, describing Papenhuyzen’s appearance on Friday night as his “turd game back” from that previous injury.
