What the fuck was Anthony Albanese thinking when he declared a successful No vote at The Voice referendum on October 14 would not mean we’re a racist country?
That’s exactly what it will mean and the world will finally see us for what we are. Racist and stupid to boot. A No vote will remove forever any vestige of a reputation we might have held or enjoyed overseas as a nation of decent, kind, people with an inbuilt belief of a fair go.
The No vote is winning the fight at the moment but never, ever, forget this. At the very core of their fierce opposition to The Voice is a simplistic pitch to the racists in our Australian society, namely that our First Nations people are being offered something that the nation’s Whities aren’t being offered!
And make no mistake about that. All the white, privileged, rich, racist, selfish, self-centred, shitheads shown above have, at the heart of their vicious attacks on the referendum, a simple message to fellow racists in Australia: “What’s in it for us poor white folk?” Nothing! This is not a simple advisory body being considered! The First Nations people are going to take their land back. Treaty is the next step, people, so be very afraid! We’ll be paying rent on houses we own. They’ll even force a name change from Melbourne to Naarm! That one’s keeping Andrew Bolt awake at night.
The tactics go beyond that of course. There’s a litany of lies and enough bullshit being spread by the No campaign to fertilise this nation’s agricultural lands for many years. The Uluru statement from the heart is two dozen pages long. The government will have to agree with anything The Voice demands! That one from John Howard. No topic will be off limits. It’s far too complicated to understand!
And all the racist shitheads shown here – we could add many more – are happily spreading their filthy lies despite knowing that the gap never seems to narrow for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on key markers such as life expectancy, health, financial security, job prospects and education.
These racist shitheads are hellbent on destroying The Voice as a Canberra thing, Albanese’s pet project, an elitists’ project – it’s even a racist notion that is unnecessarily dividing this nation – despite knowing full well that The Voice is our First Nations people’s own suggestion on how to turn things around and finally spend public money more effectively.
We need to realise what the world is going to think of us if No wins this debate with the shittiest arguments I believe I’ve ever had the misfortune to witness in a half-century’s interest in politics.
It’s why The Bug is now going to take to our sites on X and Facebook with our “racist shitheads” series. Yes, they’ll be offensive and childish but we all need to do our bit to turn this sucker around for Australia’s sake, both at home and abroad.
