Dutton adds to confusion

Peter Dutton is standing firm on his proposal for a second referendum on constitutional recognition of First Nations’ peoples despite criticisms by some Liberals advocating a “yes” vote for the voice to parliament on 14 October.

In comments this morning, Mr Dutton further confused the issue by declaring that if he became prime minister at the next election due in 2025 he would not only hold a referendum in his first term to recognise indigenous Australians in the Constitution but would also be advocating a “no” vote as he has in the current voice to parliament campaign.

Asked why, he said: “Just force of habit I guess.”

Mr Dutton was asked to clarify why a second referendum would be needed if the 14 October voice to parliament referendum succeeded.

“Well, I know Australians will naturally be of a mind to do the Right thing and correct the horrendous mistake they will have made if the current referendum succeeds,” he said.

“I’ll be giving them the opportunity in my first term as PM to white that wrong by giving them the opportunity to vote ‘no’ as they should have done on 14 October this year.

“It will also be a chance to run a fair referendum free from vote rigging by radical deep state agents like the Australian Electoral Commission which is doing nothing to stop the steal.”

Mr Dutton said he had already picked out a theme song for the proposed “no to recognition” campaign he planned to lead as prime minister.

“Like the ‘yes’ campaign for this October’s referendum I’ll also be going for a Johnny Farnham hit for my referendum in the next term of parliament,” he said.

“I’ve picked out Sadie the Cleaning Lady because I want to see the ‘no’ campaign wipe the floor with ‘yes’ voters.

“My plan is the Right way, the only way we can smash the woke gender-bending lefties, the fake blood-test avoiding land-grabbers, and those getting rich on welfare at our expense and to unite our nation that’s currently so badly divided.”
