RNC abandons Milwaukee

The Republican Party in the United States says it is taking all precautions possible to organise a “business as usual” national convention in 2024.

Chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), Ronna McDaniel, said as part of its planning the party had been forced to abandon Milwaukee as the host city for the event at which the party will nominate its candidate to run for the White House at the presidential elections in November next year.

“I’m very sorry to announce that we have decided not to stage our 2024 convention in Milwaukee from July 15 to 18 as previously planned,” Ms McDaniel (below) said.

“This unavoidable decision has been forced on us by the fact that Donald Trump is most likely to be our party’s candidate for president again, and the fact that he is facing dozens of charges in various courts around the nation.

“We have come up with a plan that accommodates all these factors which unfortunately means we won’t be tying ourselves down to one city or one venue when it comes to staging the 2024 Republican Party convention.

“Instead, the RNC has made provisions in conjunction with relevant district attorneys to stage a ‘mini-convention’ in whatever court room Donald Trump needs to attend come July next year.

“We have already started to fit out court rooms to accommodate our needs. (main picture)

“Once again, I apologise to the City of Milwaukee and its people. But I hope they understand our position,” Mr McDaniel said.

The Mayor of Milwaukee, Cavalier Johnson, (below) said he totally understood the reasons behind the Republican Party’s decision.

“But that doesn’t mean that the RNC and that selfish malignant orange spray-painted baboon leading their party shouldn’t still go and fuck themselves,” Mr Johnson said.
