Gosh, The Bug sincerely hopes the heading above doesn’t indicate in any way, shape or form the political leanings of Australia’s No1 family netzine! We’d be mortified if it didn’t.
But our tweets-of-the-week judges really did like the Twitterverse’s various reactions to David Littleproud’s amazingly vacuous appearance on ABC’s Insiders on Sunday. And, no, they’re not even talking about his most amazing achievement on that program: how he masterfully blew out of the water any hope Opposition Leader Peter Dutton might have had in convincing people to vote No in The Voice referendum because his mob would support a legislated Voice.
No, we’re talking about his amazing advocacy of struggling chemists throughout this wide, brown, land of ours. And coal mining of course, over anything renewable, but that’s a given.
So our judges have gone with Miss Polly (above and below), who was not alone in making the very valid point that in Littleproud, the nation’s soon-to-go-broke, mum-and-dad, pharmacists have a wonderful voice in Parliament , and it’s a crying shame that the Nationals leader couldn’t even consider the possibility that our One Nations people deserved a voice as powerfully as his. Instead, his mob shouted a loud NO! to The Voice without understanding a single thing about its aims, a position they are proudly adhering to.

My Horse Selects YES had much the same view as Miss Polly and maybe should have been judged joint winner of the week but what’s done is done…

…while Ray Marx & Robyn Deane, in a response to Aaron Smith, introduced a nice little piece of logic that’s quite possibly beyond Littleproud’s thinking-things-through abilities. Still, maybe he should have been able to do that, seeing the Nationals’ No 1 priority is every-day country and regional folk! (insert prolonged and loud canned laughter here!)

And finally on matters little to be proud of, all we can say to Ewart, Dave is: “Yes, we remember!” as he reminds us of an excellent Golding cartoon that sums up much of what’s been said above.

Now, onto The Voice generally and the Opposition, helped mightily by the mainstream mediocre and its columnists, made much of spreading a monstrous lie about the Statement from the Heart.
Let’s hear from Professor Dr Megan Davis as she puts redhaired racist Pauline Hanson in her place, and from Tony Koch and PRGuy in discussion about the sorts of people shouting No!….

….while TOM RED reckons much of the No argument is a binable offence and Michael clearly spells out the basic difference between the two sides of The Voice argument.

TOMORROW: The rest of the best of the week’s tweets: Channel 7’s Spotlight gets a mauling for its kid gloves treatment of Linda Reynolds and Bruce Lehrmann, as does the Herald’s Parnell Palme McGuinness for another wacky column, plus more brickbats for Aunty and some general political stuff.
But before we go, let’s have a chuckle from Sunflower123, passing on a tweet from Amanda, etc, etc. As usual with memes, we’re not sure of the creator of this one, but well done, you!
