Former Reserve Bank of Australia governor Philip Lowe has already started a new career after the Albanese Government decided against giving him a second five-year term.
Mr Lowe said he had been busy modelling for the new catalogue due out soon from clothing retailer Lowes.
“Even the similarity in our names means it’s a natural fit, unlike some of the clothing items they gave me to wear for the first photoshoot (main picture),” he said.
“Admittedly when Lowes got in touch with me I misunderstood their request.
“They wanted me to undertake some economic modelling for them, but after I turned up at their offices they could see for themselves that I had the sort of smouldering, yet restrained raw sexuality that they look for in male models.
“So I signed a contract and will be the ‘face’ of Lowes for the next five years,” he said.
A spokesperson for Lowes said the retail chain was happy to have the ex-RBA governor on board but stressed that comments Mr Lowe made in his interview suggesting that prices at Lowes would not change until at least 2027 were incorrect.

One Nation leader and Queensland Senator Pauline Hanson says she is not happy at being excluded from a role in drafting the official “no” case for the “yes/no” pamphlet to be distributed soon to all Australian households ahead of he referendum on an indigenous voice to federal parliament
The pamphlet to be published by the Australian Electoral Commission will contain 2,000-word arguments for and against the voice proposal.
“I am furious that my talents and my ideas haven’t been tapped by the AEC to help draft the ‘no’ case in the pamphlet,” Senator Hanson said.
However, a spokesperson for the AEC said there were good reasons for rejecting Senator Hanson’s request to participate.
“Senator Hanson was insisting that the pamphlet’s ‘no’ case consist entirely of the word ‘no’ repeated 2,000 times,” the spokesperson said.
“We rejected her participation purely on the grounds that her contribution would have been redundant because it mirrored exactly the proposal put to us by Peter Dutton.”

Donald Trump has confirmed US media reports that he is planning to pick a woman as his vice-presidential running mate if he secures the Republican Party’s nomination for the 2024 presidential election.
“Oh yeah, it’s gonna be a woman. For sure. Oh yeah,” Mr Trump said.
“Women are so important in this election. So very important if we wanna Make American Great Again, yeah. So I’m gonna have a woman on my ticket.”
Mr Trump – now based in the southern US state of Florida – rejected the idea that he would need to pick someone from a western or northern state to geographically balance the ticket
“Nah. Don’t need to do that. Not at all,” he said. “I’m just gonna pick someone with what I like to call a grabbable pussy.”
Polls taken soon after his remarks were reported showed a jump in Mr Trump’s approval rating.
