A knack for heralding in the NACC

This week’s winner, The Emperor’s Old Tailor (above and below), was always a hot chance for glory; the favourite music clip of all time for one of our senior The Bug tweets of the week judges is The Knack’s My Sharona. He loves the beat of it, the long instrumental in the middle, the very naughty words….

As always with memes, we’re not sure whether this wonderful connection to the new National Anti-Corruption Commission is The Emperor’s work. Always happy to insert an acknowledgment if advised otherwise. What wonderful lyrics regardless!

Now onto the big story of the week: the release of the Robodebt Royal Commission hearing findings.

Seeing The Bug is proud to be a sort of Media Watch – only more than once a week and often more timely – we’ll kick off with totally valid criticisms of our current, shamefully inadequate, mainstream mediocre.

Take it away, Barrie Cassidy in conversation with the aforementioned Media Watch, two contributions from Media Analyst and Rick.

Aaron Dodd, Vote YES.’s contribution is one we should all never forget, especially since Peter Dutton and other LNP spinmeisters continue to spew out the bullshit that Robodebt in the illegal form that sent many to their graves was a Labor creation.

Before we leave claims of media bias, The Bug‘s twitterverse over the past week was littered as usual with claims that the so-called independent, fair and balanced Australian Broadcasting Corporation seems to have forgotten the change of federal government in May last year.

Here’s Victoria Fielding and Squizz in conversation, and Eddy Jokovich as well, on one case in point.

You know what we at The Bug think? These accusations about ABC biased towards the LNP are so common you’d think the ABC chair would be looking into such claims as a matter of urgency.

Okay, enough with the sarcasm.

While still on The Spud with Dead Eyes, here’s Graham Kahabka and JayJay..

Former PM Scott “I don’t hold with copping any of the blame, mate” Morrison wasn’t missed by Twitter after the commission’s adverse findings against him. Wishing the Liar from the Shire unwell in Italy were Miss Polly and Bug regular TOM RED with a wonderful meme.

We’re confident Miss Polly would be offering an unconditional apology to anyone who was eating breakfast when that image of Smirko’s bare tummy first surfaced on the worldwide web.

David Milner used a word that’s rarely associated with Morrison while SharynM roped in The Beetrooter for good measure.

TO BE CONTINUED TOMORROW.
