The ubiquitous Hardly Normal ….. sorry Harvey Norman … wraparound that has kept the print-edition versions of the Heralds alive since COVID has never looked sillier than it did around today’s The Sydney Morning Herald.
For the first time, the pretend top front bit on the wraparound is totally different from the real front page inside (at top). No big deal, some of you BUGers might say, but a modern metropolitan paper can’t decide what its splash should be?
And for the first time the MGH can recall, the real sport back page, two pages in from where it would normally be if it wasn’t being hardly normally shunted as usual, is the weakest, pissiest main sports page we’ve ever seen (below, right). Where is the pride, people!

And, of course, for the umpteenth time, poor Peter FitzSimons’ column is destined for the rubbish bin with the rest of the wraparound.

We’ve wondered many, many, times here at the MGH what Fitz thinks of that.
Over to you, Peter. Share your thoughts with us.
