STANDUP COMEDY SENSATI0N REVEALED:
After The Bug listened to Queensland Opposition Leader David Crisafulli’s Budget reply speech in Parliament yesterday, we instinctively knew we had a comedic star in the making.
Convinced we had a new Wil Anderson, Jimeon, Carl Barron or even a funny Dave Hughes on our hands, we pleaded with David to try that material on a live audience and when he said: “Should I write some fresh stuff?” we simply replied: “None is needed! Your material yesterday was pitch perfect. We have never laughed so much in the Bug office in our lives.”
Reassured by our comments, David gave us the go-ahead and we booked the new, intimate journos’ bar at the revamped Jubilee Hotel in the Valley last night and what can we say?
David had a small but appreciate crowd eating out of his hand from the get-go.
