Oh, Daniel Boy…

What took you so fucking long!

Better-late-than-never is about the best I can offer following the decision by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews to axe most advertising with LNP publicity shitsheet the Herald Sun.

The Herald Sun has rarely, if ever, treated Andrews and his government fairly; why the fuck would he have ever wanted to throw it the barest of bones?

Andrews’ first election win in 2014 should have given him more than enough reasons to ditch the grubby Murdoch rag; it was a consistently, vehemently, virulently, anti-Labor propaganda crapsheet then at the bequest of an octogenarian, ethics bereft, criminally inclined, money and power hungry New York cunt who wouldn’t recognise journalism ethics and practice if they bit him on his scrawny, far-right-wing arse.

Subsequent elections in 2018 and again last year saw that New Yorker piece of shit get older and the Herald Sun‘s hatred of Andrews and Labor grow all the more fierce.

Back in 2014, perhaps Andrews was hogtied by upper-house numbers and couldn’t repeal laws about where government advertising was to be spent. Maybe like a lot of Labor leaders over time, he was shitscared back then by the claimed power of the Murdoch media to sway public opinion and turf him out after one term.

His recent decision perhaps suggests he has finally been disabused of that notion of Newscorpse might, as his landslide last year showed. We at The Bug have argued Newscorpse hasn’t been able to sway elections to Murdoch’s cause for quite some time.

So, welcome aboard, Daniel Andrews. And it is truly wonderful to see the Herald Sun in full offendednessidity if such a word exists about its loss of government lolly.

The rag is not a proper newspaper’s arsewipe and its politics writers can call themselves anything they want to, as long as it’s not fucking journalists. They have brought this all on their own heads.

PS: I’ve just noticed the image our graphics department produced for this column. I have no idea why poor Annastacia is up there with her own duncecap. I’m pretty sure that up in Queensland with a unicameral (one house) parliament, Ms Palaszczuk immediately cancelled all government advertising with The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail after their concerted, vicious, anti-journalistic, redhot, shit-fuelled campaign to stop her being first elected Premier in early 2015.

As with her Victorian counterpart, anti-Labor campaigns by the News Queensland mastheads have just got more virulent, more shamefully biased and totally unprofessional at the following elections in 2017 and 2020. Rabidly rightwing, News Queensland hatred of Labor has been laid bare not just at election times but as a 12-month-a-year obsession that has inevitably become not just totally ineffective but actually counterproductive in that both rags have become laughing stocks to a majority of the general public.

I’ll just recheck my belief that Palaszczuk stopped all advertising with the LNP’s Bowen Hills branch back in 2015 – she would indeed be a total dunce if she didn’t – and I’ll have her image removed forthwith.
