Okay, before we delve into the Twitterverse’s reaction to that Bruce Lehrmann protection racket – sorry, Channel 7’s Spotlight special and Lisa Wilkinson hatchet job last night – let’s feature a lighter tweet that caught our tweets-of-the-week judges’ fancy.
So well done to Philip O’Leary (above and below).
We suspect he’s channeling opposition to The Voice. More on that later.

But we can’t ignore it so here’s just a taste of the Twitterverse’s reaction to the Bruce Lehrmann interview with Liam Bartlett on Channel 7 last night.
All had worthy things to say but we thought the reasons Lehrmann cooked up for: A. going back to Parliament House early in the morning after a night on the piss; and B. Why he left out a back door without seeing if Brittany Higgins had finished getting undressed and was ready to leave with him stood out for us old cynics in Bug Central.
So take it away Allan Green and matt_Laing…

Lehrmann did a lot of huffing and puffing about how awful that ACT prosecutor was in the first place to have him charged on the flimsiest of evidence and how he was eventually robbed of his chance for exoneration and It’s Time addressed some of his concerns in a conversation with WE Screwed Morrison.

To be fair to Lehrmann, maybe he only heard the ACT chief copper’s view of where that jury was leading: a 10 to one split in favour of acquittal. The Bug suspects the holdout in that case was some fucking deadshit moronic juror clasping some dodgy “academic” papers on how often women who cry rape really were raped. (please insert prolonged and loud canned laughter here if you so desire).
Craig Hill offered some wise and sensible advice…

… while Katy Hall rightly took offence to the wording of the Daily Mail contribution to quality non-journalism and Daryl Maguire’s tractor was a tad sarcastic.

And while this one from MFW technically came in a little late to be included in last week’s batch, we think it also deserves a run.

Many tweets addressed other very relevant issues such as why that couch was steamed cleaned so quickly, why Higgins was promptly shunted west to work with Michalia Cash and why didn’t Lehrmann have his say at court if he was totally, completely, absolutely, innocent – despite being in his rights to remain silent – but enough of that for now.
TOMORROW: More favoured tweets of the past week, including some shots at Greg Sheridan and Janet Albrechtsen, The Voice debate limps on and more online citizen journalists are begining to ponder why Peter Dutton exists.
