Our tweets-of-the-week judges could not agree more with the sentiments expressed above and below by highly respected retired journalist, multi-Walkley Award winner and Australian Media Hall of Famer Tony Koch.

Tony is spot on. Stop the crap, FFS, Albo. Your childhood yarn played its role in winning last year’s election. Now ditch the schtick.
It really is quite annoying – as Tony Koch has rightly picked up on – when after almost a year in power you’ve shown no real intention – yet – of honouring your key campaign promise to leave no-one behind.
In the same vein, we selected this tweet from Pup Fiction, one of a number who riffed on the notion that Albanese is deliberately making the poor suffer so they’ll have a success story like his to tell one day! Marvellous stuff, as Richie used to say.

The rate referred to is, of course, the dismal, poverty-inducing Jobseeker rate that Albanese and Treasurer Jim Chalmers could have increased a week after coming to power by pointing the Morrison government’s cooked books at the camera and with humble, apologetic faces, declaring the Stage 3 tax cuts dead, buried and cremated.
No-one summed up that particular exercise better than Emma!

Okay, to reinforce what we’re talking about here, here’s Coalition Tea Lady with some basic maths and the equally wonderful Cassandra Goldie praising the only journalist who made much sense on Insiders yesterday.

Now, of course, when a supposedly left-wing prime minister ends up acting almost as rightwing as an LNP one (okay, some would argue even more), Albanese is going to cop stick for all sorts of things, even going to a wedding. Take it away, Bernie Dowling and Patrick Stokes, the latter cleverly alluding to “that rate” again.

General shitty ideas focused Solo Monks’ mind, while Bee solved some of the nation’s housing issues by axing another stupid, big spend and HELEN MCAFEE had China on her mind.

All very depressing, right? So let’s have a few moments of light-hearted fun where we poke fun at Barnaby Joyce and revisit that Kyle Wotisname wedding. Welcome back TOM RED and Metta Bhavana etc etc.

Older members on the tweets judging panel loved the new words to The Beverly Hillbillies!
Let’s finish off with an eclectic mix of topics from Eddy Jokovich, JayJay, cmdibley and Michael J Wyllie.
