The column that has fun with the smaller mistakes and missteps of Australia’s mainstream mediocre; those sweet little fishes that individually don’t amount to a full meal but collectively can cause a tummy upset over the overall state of the once great and noble craft of journalism in this country.
There’s little room for argument with the key line in the full-page ad run in News Crap Australia turdbloids plugging Liberal Party apologist Peta Credlin’s “after dark” show on Sky News. (below)

We suspect most Australians who actually bother to think about politics would agree that, yes, her insights are not found anywhere else – something for which we should all be very grateful.
No minister!
The ABC’s online news site the other morning had this nice little error.

Mediocre Bytes did not read of Senator Herr Paterson’s switch to the governing Labor Party and his new role as Home Affairs Minister but it no doubt welcomed him with open arms… or at the very least a right armed raised in appreciation.
Dirty Digger at work?
This very patriotic-looking full-page advertisement (below) with text meant to inspire by citing the supposed qualities associated with the “Anzac spirit” appeared in News Crap Australia turdbloids on Anzac Day.

It was sprinkled with lines such as: “We’re for honouring the fallen and those who made it home.” And: “We’re for thanking them with quiet reflection at dawn…”
“We’re for the Anzacs and always will be,” the advert stated with a final flourish.
All well and good, but who the hell are “we”? The ad carried no identification.
If it was a News Crap Australia ad we wonder why it wasn’t tastefully badged as such. Was Rupert’s firm worried about being accused of leveraging an iconic national day and the memory of those who served or fell just for crass commercial gain and to help burnish its rightfully damaged reputation?
You know, the sort of accusation News Crap Australia might level against anyone else who ran such an advertisement.
