For this second bite at The Bug‘s tweets-of-the-past-week, we’re going to ignore the fact that yesterday we put the blue-ribbon sash around the neck of Anthony Albanese.
To tell the truth, his silly little tweet fuckup over Barry Humphries wasn’t that worthy; we just wanted to take the mickey out of the schmuck. We are The Bug after all, and we’ve been knocking down tall poppies for 34 years now.
So we proudly present a NEW winner for the past week, and our judges laud TOM RED for his body of work!
Can we be blunt here? The people behind The Bug have never, ever, been interested in monetising what we immodestly consider Australia’s best, most offensive, satire site. Yep, we’re fucking stupid. Certifiably insane, if the truth be known.
But we mention that only to explain why our hearts go out to TOM RED if he’s not making a bob out of the hard work he puts in week in and week out to have a go at very much the same people and institutions that we at The Bug love to hate!
If you do all this just for the fun of it, TOM RED, the next knock on your front door may be the men in white coats armed with a straitjacket and a needle filled with a powerful sedative.
Anyway, you BUGgers out there, here’s some of TOM RED’s efforts from just the past seven days or so. Give him the clap he so very much deserves. Follow him. Send him money so he’s not like us! And never forget the wonderful impact good people like TOM RED and arthur norman @skulled1 have on all of us.

STOP PRESS: Unlike The Bug, TOM RED recently decided to hopefully make a few shekels out of his creativity. Go to tomred.substack.com if you’d like to join up for a small amount and get his memes, etc, the very moment they pour from his creative mind and onto the worldwide web!
Okay, on to other tweeterers worthy of a mention this past period. And let’s keep the laughs coming by taking on Susssssan “This goes with this goes with this” Ley. Take it away, theunaustralian, net, National Times and Peter Murphy.

The Bug is detecting growing anger over the Albanese government’s apparent determination to stick with the very unLabor-like Stage 3 tax cuts until the people tell them not to so they don’t feel they’re breaking an election promise even thought they will be, so here’s two grabs from Coalition Tea Lady on that matter, the first responding to Dr Sheep Person Podge, second endorsing an article in The Monthly.

Greg Jericho got into the act as well…

Time now for a simple meme that nails it in so few words. Thanks to Derek Robinson.

Back now to the federal LNP’s kamikazi decision to oppose The Voice. Rupert’s Conscience Votes Yes and Phillip Riley came at that from slightly different angles.

While we’re banging on about the current Opposition Leader, Peter Mavros – etc, etc, reminded us of something the Spud wished he’d never tweeted. The Australian public appears to be finding it too easy to write off Dutton. Herr Kipfler! Bewdiful!

Politics in general saw Michael J Wyllie, Miss Polly and The Emperor’s Old Tailor rush to their keyboards…

On media matters, MFW took aim at ABC Insiders while Terry Sweetman narrowly avoided choking to death over Fox’s response to their humiliating $A one-billion-plus payout for all the lies it spread over the 2021 US presidential election.

And in the sad wake of Barry Humphries’ death, let’s finish with Hammyhamster’s take on that!
