Media call goes to the dogs

BRISBANE: A media conference by Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has been postponed after dozens, possibly hundreds, of dogs invaded the venue.

Mr Dutton’s office this morning invited media outlets to a news conference with Mr Dutton at a park in Brisbane where he planned to step up his stated campaign against the Voice to Parliament.

But within minutes of beginning his opening remarks, dogs started to appear and began milling around Mr Dutton. (main picture)

They quickly became so numerous that the Opposition Leader’s staff called a halt to the news conference.

It is understood Mr Dutton will resume his news conference later today at an indoor venue.

Libs lengthen as likely loser

CANBERRA: Odds of an LNP victory at the expected 2025 federal election have blown out overnight among the nation’s online betting companies.

Those companies on average yesterday had a LNP win after only one term in the wilderness at 8-1. This morning that stands at 50-1 with one major outfit saying punters can name their own odds if they want to.

This follows news that Michaelia Cash is strongly in the running to be appointed shadow Attorney-General in Peter Dutton’s Opposition frontbench.
