Sussan Ley lands a bargain…

….or three!

ALICE SPRINGS: Astute property investor Sussan Ley has snapped up an undisclosed number of properties “at bargain basement prices” after jetting into Alice Springs late yesterday afternoon on a taxpayer-funded flight.

The deputy leader of the federal Liberal Party (pictured above) is understood to have taken advantage of plummeting property values in and around the central Australian town following the recent visit by Opposition Leader Peter Dutton.

“Ms Ley has purchased several commercial and residential properties at excellent bargain-basement prices”, a local real estate agent told The Bug. “She certainly has an eye for a bargain, especially with the very attractive negative-gearing options available to her.”

BROOME, WA: Cyclone Ilsa continues to threaten isolated communities despite being downgraded to a category-three storm after crossing the West Australian coastline as a powerful category-five event.

Still in its path and at risk of serious damage from 100km-plus winds as it tracks eastward are the townships of GiddyUp, HurryUp, FollowUp and CloseUp.
