BUSINESS NEWS:
US-based food storage container maker Tupperware has announced a radical plan it says will stave off what was otherwise forecast to be imminent bankruptcy.
The listed company recently declared it was in its worst financial position since being established almost 80 years ago as a result of a drop-off in demand as consumer habits have changed. (below)

“Unfortunately, today’s consumers do not want to buy our products,” a spokesperson for Tupperware’s Australian operations said.
“What’s more, they don’t want to buy through our traditional in-home Tupperware parties.
“But our US-based product research teams have been working on a new business model that is promising to turn our fortunes around in a very dramatic way.”
The spokesperson said the company would soon hold the Australian launch of its new range of Up-her-ware sex toys to be marketed through in-home parties. (main picture)
“We discovered we could make an entire range of sex aids simply by repurposing some of our existing products and slightly adjusting the moulds used to fabricate some others,” the spokesperson said.
“Despite the name, our new range of Up-her-ware sex aids – just like our existing Tupperware goods – can also be used by males.
“We have had a strong initial response to the shout-out we posted on our website seeking people to sign up to host Up-her-ware parties in their homes and many men have responded.
“But we really need more to sign up so if any men out there have an open date and would like to fill it, then we’d like to hear from them,” the spokesperson said.
