Never before has one person, politician or otherwise, so dominated entries in The Bug’s tweets of the week barrel. We refer, of course, to Peter Dutton, the man who, if there is a Dog, will never, ever, be prime minister.
The barrel almost burst from the deluge of entries after Dutton surprised no-one by announcing the Opposition shadow ministry would not only oppose the First Nations’ Voice to Parliament but campaign actively against it.
Short and sweet as it may be, our judges couldn’t go past bradpsychology’s reference (above and below) to the Liberal Party’s last remaining core support group, one this is dying … and yet also dying to remain loyal to the cause.

How hard have the Liberals worked over the past decade or so to maintain that core support group at the expense of all others, hey?
Mike Carlton, Peter Klages and Bernie Dowling made their own predictions as to the Liberals’ future after Dutton’s announcement…

Pup Fiction and Mr Denmore used memes to sum up their feelings…

Glen Evans saw hope for a successful Voice referendum in the recent Aston result, while Felicity Reynolds roped in the Beetrooter to have a dig at Peter “we need more information!” Dutton.

More general condemnation of the Liberals’ deathwish decision came from Gary Fallon and Tony Koch.

And time for another meme break … from Politic@al Spinner.

Bee clearly always looks on the bright side, as did Gary Fallon again with a double dip!

And why not finish off with Paul Bongiorno, a bloke The Bug has always suspected knows what he’s talking about.
