Final debate win to ‘Dominant Dom’

Premier Dominic Perrottet has easily outclassed a “hopeless and bumbling” Chris Minns, the man who wants his job, in the final televised leaders debate before the state election on March 25.

That’s the clear verdict from the After Dark panellists at Sky News Australia, the media organisation that conducted the at-times fiery encounter.

“I think the 100 undecided voters in the audience that broke 81-19 in the Premier’s favour got it just about right,” said Paul Murray.

“I probably would have give the debate even more to Mr Perrottet. He was at the absolute top of his game.”

Rowan Deen concurred: “Dom was dominant throughout the one-hour special. You almost felt sorry for Minns; it was like a cat toying cruelly with a mouse.”

Peta Credlin said the Premier had performed like a polished, confident leader perfectly entitled to a well-deserved fourth term.

“Minns was hopeless and bumbling. The sad and sorry Labor Party will be looking for another soy-latte sipping, inner-city, socialist woke warrior as state Opposition Leader come Sunday morning on 26 March.”

Sky News Australia chief news anchor Kieran Gilbert will host that final 7.30pm debate on Wednesday 22 March live from West Sydney.

Online bookies have responded quickly to the news that federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton (pictured) has changed his mind and will attend the Liberals’ state election launch this weekend and will make himself fully available for campaigning over the final 14 days of electioneering.

The six online bookies being monitored by The Bug had Dominic Perrottet’s Liberals at an average of $4.25 to win the election early this morning. By late morning this had blown out to between 12-1 and 14-1.
