The man coordinating the mainstream media’s campaign to get Dominic Perrottet’s LNP government reelected to a well-deserved fourth term just 21 days from now has delivered a stinging broadside at one of those MSM partners for “dropping the ball in this crucial and important campaign with the premier state’s very future at stake”.
Simon Benson has issued a stern warning to Nine Entertainment Co. chairman Peter Costello to “get his Sydney Morning Herald house in order”.
“Who on earth authorised that creampuff interview with [Opposition Leader] Chris Minns’ wife in today’s paper,” he railed, “when surely the state Liberal Party’s dirt unit would be bombarding all our partner outlets with great stuff on Minns! Time is now of the essence and the bookies’ odds are remaining desperately negative.”
Benson is The Australian newspaper columnist recently appointed chair of a steering committee created by those MSM outlets to coordinate their efforts to ensure the return of the LNP.
Benson (at top, recently addressing a meeting of top MSM editors and producers) was the unanimous choice for the position following the recent news detailing his heavy involvement as one of the nation’s most senior and respected journalists in ensuring RoboDebt killed as many innocent Australians as possible.
This morning, he confided in The Bug his dismay that Saturday’s SMH had also given Minns a free plug on the front page with his plans to keep a Sydney road tunnel in public hands.
“Who cares what Minns thinks? At the very least, the article should have led with Dom’s response to that city woke, stupid, socialist idea. Today’s article was almost entirely about what Minns and his shadow minister had to say. That is totally unacceptable and has no place in modern MSM politics reporting.

“And what about that dreadfully inaccurate Resolve Political Monitor the paper led with mid week!
“The fucking front-page splash and then two fucking full pages inside on what is clearly a rogue poll. Fuck me dead. Is Costello out of the country?
“The Daily Telegraph would have spiked a Newspoll that came out with those faulty results!”
