Last week our Media Glass House teams revealed the many pro-Liberal Party front page stories appearing so far this month in News Crap Australia’s daily Sydney turdbloid The Daily Telegraph as the NSW state election approaches.
In recent days they have gathered together a few more stories from the pages of the Tele that show just how well it is performing its daily job as the Liberal Party’s advertising agency.
The latest free advertisement appeared in The Sunday Telegraph – a page 5 lead about a Perrottet Government plan aimed at cutting the stamp duty burden shouldered by home buyers.
Our MGH teams consider it an advertisement, not a new story, because almost one-quarter of the story is devoted to a political attack by NSW Treasurer Matt Kean on the Labor Party. (below)

In four paragraphs he claimed certain home buyers would save $900,000 but under Labor’s policy they’d be worse off by around $106,000.
Of course our MGH teams say they would expect such arguments in an election environment. But they also they would expect some reply to Kean’s claims by Labor to be included in the story.
Were any such rebuttal comments included. We know you know the answer.

An early news page is the usual spot the News Crap Australia ad agency books for its Liberal Party client.
As mentioned above the Sunday yarn on stamp duty led page 5 and on Saturday a story favourable to the Perrottet Government – promises designed to cut energy bills – was the page 3 lead. (below)

But where does The Sunday Tele place Labor Party stories, such as a commitment by Opposition Leader Chris Minns to fund a new computer-based early warning system to help emergency services in times of floods and bushfires.
Our MGH researchers thought this idea might warrant somewhat prominent placement, given the natural disasters that have afflicted NSW in recent years.
The Tele didn’t think so and placed it in a sliver of a column on page 13. (below)

The Sunday Telegraph yesterday ran an item outlining the NSW Liberal Party’s new advertising campaign including an attack ad aimed at Chris Minns and the Labor Party. (below)

The item canvassed the two ads the Libs plan to run – a positive one about Dom …. sorry, the Premier… and his government and the negative anti-Labor one.
The shortish story goes to great lengths to recite the details of the lines of attack on Labor.
So in effect, News Crap Australia, as the Liberal Party’s ad agency is now even running ads about Liberal Party ads.

The Sydney turdbloids are only reflecting the fact that anti-Labor editorial attitudes are built in to News Crap Australia, according to our MGH teams.
They point to yet further evidence to back their claim, this time in the form of a story in today’s Brisbane turdbloid The Courier-Mail about as yet unannounced changes to the national superannuation regime. (below)

The Albanese Government is expected to make changes to super rules to knock off some features that offer blatant tax minimisation opportunities for high-income earners, especially those who can sock away millions of dollars in self-managed super funds (SMSF).
So when the Courier runs a story from a national News Crap Australia reporter quoting a person heading the SMSF peak group it naturally contains claims that are not exactly supportive of the government.
Naturally, the person quoted makes all sorts of predictions about all sorts of disasters for our super system if anything is changed.
It would be nice, wouldn’t it, if the Courier used a headline that indicated the claims were just that – claims, not fact?
