Reynolds wins defo case!

COURTS:

A jubilant Linda Reynolds has won her defamation case against Brittany Higgins’ boyfriend David Charaz after his lawyers admitted guilt and offered a monetary settlement for the damage done to her reputation, standing in the community and future earning capacity.

“This was never about money,” the former Cabinet minister for government services in the Morrison government told The Bug from Perth this morning.

“The one -cent payment struck overnight is obviously symbolic but I believe, as does my legal team, it goes a long, long, way to protecting my reputation as a hard-working minister who never took a sick day in her life, worked tirelessly for the betterment of the Australian people and who was totally committed to the wellbeing and safety of all those who worked for me.

“It’s also the symbolic amount my legal counsel hinted might have been the judge’s own settlement amount to cover the damage done to my reputation, standing in the community and future earning capacity had we gone through a long and expensive trial and been victorious.”

And Ms Reynolds said no adverse reading should be made of her legal team’s decision to pay all legal costs on both sides.

“Neither of us had spent too much up to now so it was no biggie.

“I’m just glad Sharaz and his legal team have been made to see sense, if you’ll pardon the pun.

“I truly believe the lying cow’s boyfriend has learnt his lesson and will never again use the disgraceful, coward’s castle of Twitter – or any other dreadful, woke, social media platform for that matter – to impugn my character or my motives.

“If the truth be known and as I said to Tudgey (Alan Tudge) just the other day, I wouldn’t have been anywhere near as angry if Sharaz had used a legitimate forum to criticise me, such as all the News Corp Australia newspapers, the Fin. Review, the Nine, Seven and 10 networks, 3AW, 2GB and the Sky News channel like everyone else.”
