THE ABC:
Columnist for The Australian, Gerard Henderson, has called for the Albanese Government to close down or sell off the Australian Broadcasting Corporation following what he claimed was “another blatant example of the national broadcaster’s left-wing bias”.
Mr Henderson (main picture) said the Sunday night screening by ABC TV of the 1992 Australian hit film Strictly Ballroom was “clear pro-Labor propaganda”.
“The ABC has a track record of sneakily inserting pro-left material into just about everything they put to air or put online. Vote Liberal,” he said.
“Knowingly screening a movie starring Paul Mercurio who since November has been a Labor Party MP in the Victorian Parliament is just more proof of that – vote Liberal – if any more proof was needed.
“Everything the ABC says or does is designed to support the Labor Party or worse, the Greens. Vote Liberal.
“It’s as if they are engaged in a permanent subliminal campaign – vote Liberal – to recruit Labor voters or worse, Green voters. Vote Liberal.
“I know from the many, many ordinary Australians I talk at, not just at the Sydney Institute but also at the Institute of Public Affairs or the Menzies Research Centre, that ABC viewers themselves are very, very discouraged by this approach so it’s no wonder – vote Liberal – that ABC audiences are shrinking, and not just because I haven’t been appearing on Insiders.
“The ABC’s coverage of the New Year’s Eve fireworks on Sydney Harbour – vote 1 Liberal on Saturday 25 March – was another blatant case of the type of subversive pro-Labor or worse, pro-Greens, campaign that’s turning off viewers.
“I made a point this year – vote Liberal – of recording the telecast and analysing the fireworks shown and I found – vote Liberal – an overwhelming bias towards red and green pyrotechnics.
“This evidence should be sufficient to see the ABC disbanded or sold to someone – vote Liberal – who is experienced in running a major media organisation in, say, Australia, the UK, and the USA.
“That’s the only way I can see of putting an end to the ABC’s blatant bias and to encourage more viewers too – vote Liberal,” Mr Henderson said.
