The Bug’s entertainment reporter looks back at 2022 and the possibility ex-US President Donald Trump may re-enter public life via Hollywood.

One of my first reports for 2022 was an exclusive story about a new movie being produced by and starring Donald Trump that explores what its advance promotional blurb describes as “his brave, selfless, and heroic actions” during the deadly invasion of the US Capitol on 6 January 2021.
As my Hollywood sources told me, the new film’s script was also written by Trump himself as his way to “tell the truth” about the riot that threatened to derail certification of the election of Joe Biden as America’s 46th President.
As one source close to the production told me on condition of QAnonimity: “I want people…. I mean the true and rightful President wants people to be told the facts and not to continue relying on fake news outlets who’ve delivered nothing but lies about the events of 6 January. Lies. So many lies, oh yeah.
“Just to be clear, by ‘President’ of course I mean me…. I mean, I mean President Trump, who is actually still the rightful leader of our nation. I don’t mean the imposter – sleepy, senile, sex pest, ‘where’s my walking frame and adult diapers’ Joe Biden – who stole the White House in November 2020.”
Having seen early rushes I exclusively revealed that Trump based his script on the old 1939 Frank Capra gem Mister Smith Goes to Washington and even insisted on it being shot in black and white, apparently to add authenticity as well as to save costs.
But in Mister Trump Goes to Washington but is Foiled by the Fake Media and Sleepy Joe’s Seditious Left-Wing Vote Rigging Army, Trump does not play a naive and idealistic young man who finds himself in the US Senate fighting corruption as did Jimmy Stewart in Capra’s classic.
Instead, Trump has penned a script telling the story of a visionary US President trying to make the world safe for his family businesses but whose plans are stymied by a massive operation involving voter fraud that costs him a second term.
Trump does not spare those whom he believes worked against him. For example he has written in a role for a character he has called Vice-President Shithead complete with appropriate prosthetic make-up. (main picture)
The scenes set at the US Capitol were shot at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida and show hundreds of well-behaved US citizens, some wearing animal skins and animal-horn hats, forming orderly queues to seek entrance to the public galleries of the US Senate to watch the vote certification process, before being infiltrated by radical left-wing agitators wearing Joe Biden shirts and campaign buttons who begin attacking the building and those seeking to protect it.
During the year I also reported on plans by those on the other side of the political fence to Trump who are working on their own projects about him and his political career.
One such household name is the creator of the popular The West Wing TV series, Aaron Sorkin, who is still to cast someone in the lead role to play the 45th US President.
When I last checked he had held secret auditions and narrowed the field down to Martin Sheen who is very keen to play a very different President compared with the West Wing’s Jed Bartlet, and Clyde, the orangutan who paired with Clint Eastwood in the 1970s caper movie Every Which Way But Loose. “I’m not sure how I’m gonna break it to Marty, but Clyde’s got the edge,” Sorkin told me.
