CHRISTMAS 2022:

Former prime minister Scott Morrison has been sacked from his pre-Christmas job as Santa at a shopping centre in his Cook electorate in southern Sydney.

Mr Morrison (main picture) had only just started playing Santa yesterday morning at Cronulla Plaza when centre managers were inundated with complaints from parents who had taken their children to visit him to make their traditional request for presents from their Christmas wish-list.

A distressed parent told The Bug: “He was the worst Santa I’ve ever seen. Anywhere. Ever.

“First of all, as he took his seat in the big Santa’s chair and even before the first child was allowed near him, he announced that he wouldn’t be dealing with any kids who had undergone gender reassignment surgery.

“At that point a parent waiting in line with their children advised him that such surgery was never undertaken on anyone under 18. His only response was that the issue was ‘complicated’.”

Other parents said they grew concerned when Morrison laid his hands on each child’s head as they sat on his lap, held his right hand aloft and began speaking or as they suspected, praying, in tongues.

“This just confused and upset the kids, no doubt about it,” one parent said.

Another parent said Morrison as Santa didn’t listen to anything the children said, but kept on telling them what they wanted.

Parents also complained to centre management that Morrison as Santa was asking each child how their parents had voted in the May election before committing to deliver any Christmas presents to their home.

“He even refused point-blank when one young boy carrying a camera phone asked if he could take a selfie with Santa,” an angry parent said.

“He arrogantly dismissed the request by saying: ‘I don’t hold a pose, mate.’ Then he almost threw the child off his lap and reached for the next one in line.

“Then when one young boy said he wanted a Cronulla Sharks jersey for Christmas, Santa bluntly told him he’d never heard of them.

“It became really dangerous when Santa mistook a few parents taking photos for media photographers and leapt from his chair to deliberately crash tackle a kid in front of them. It was lucky he didn’t crush the poor kid.”

A centre management spokesperson confirmed Mr Morrison had been dismissed as Santa.

“He’s gone as Santa, but unfortunately we’ve since discovered that he had secretly stitched up for himself five jobs as Santa’s elves, so we’re stuck with him for the rest of Christmas Eve until the centre closes,” the spokesperson said.
