You’ll all have to excuse my years as a trained killer for the hawkish viewpoint I’m about to express.

Not long after Russia invaded Ukraine, I thought it would be a bloody fine idea to wake up to the news that NATO had invited Ukraine to join it …. yesterday!

And that NATO would then have given Vladimir Putin a few days to get the fuck out of Ukraine – or else. And skedaddle from Crimea while he was at it.

My “fuck off or we’ll raze the Kremlin” hawkishness came around the time that Vlad the Bad was threatening to use nuclear weapons or other bombs that needed a good wash to bring Ukraine to its knees.

Close to a year later, Vlad the Bad is still huffing and puffing with threats about a much wider conflict following the decision by the US to provide another $3 billion in military aid including a Patriot missile defence system.

How dare the US support a sovereign country seeing a wounded Russian bear is now resorting to an even higher level of war crimes to freeze Ukrainians into submission.

And so the trained killer in me – two years in the cadets and then five years as a national service requirement in the Citizens Military Forces that later became the Army Reserve – has me waking up each and every day still hoping to hear the news that NATO has welcomed Ukraine aboard as a fully fledged member – yesterday!

The vast majority of the world has to show it believes in the international rule of law and the right of sovereign nations to live – and exist – in peace.

I appreciate playing at war is hell – I’ll never, ever, know why the wet canteen at Wacol had to close so early – and no-one wants the conflict over there to escalate … oh, who the fuck am I trying to kid! … Putin disgusts me.

Give the cunt a few days to get the fuck out and then take out the Kremlin if he doesn’t. With conventional weaponry, mind, unless Putin prompts an alternative strategy.

If we have to get World War 3 done and dusted before China is 100 per cent certain of coming out on top, let’s get cracking!
