How about Netflix and Charles?

Fears that King Charles might be seriously impacted by the “tell-all” Netflix series starring Their Non-Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have proved groundless.

According to my Buckingham Palace sources the King and Queen Consort have been “entirely unaffected” by the supposedly dramatic revelations that have featured in the series so far.

“In fact His Majesty and the Queen Consort enjoyed watching the first series of three episodes of Harry and Meghan screened this week,” one palace insider told me.

“The royal couple spent an entire evening binge watching all three instalments of the first series and have told staff that they are really looking forward to next week’s episodes. (main picture)

“The King donned his favourite striped pyjamas and Her Majesty put on her best nightie, or knightie as generations of senior royal woman have called them.

“They then sat down in front of a TV each with a tray on their lap and had dinner while watching reruns of the 1970s British sitcom Love Thy Neighbour, which they both enjoyed.” (below)

My palace insider told me that the King and Queen Consort then asked to view a few episodes of the old BBC TV series The Black and White Minstrel Show. (below)

“A staff member asked the King if he preferred the later episodes from the 1970s or some from the years prior to colour TV,” my insider source told me.

“The King thought it was a tremendous joke and asked: Does it matter?  The royal couple then spent some time laughing at his joke.

“Finally after an hour or so of toe-tapping and singing along, they settled down to watch Harry and Meghan. I should clarify that they did actually watch it, but with the sound turned right down.

“They did that so that they could take turns dubbing their version of TNRHs’ dialogue when they each appeared on screen.

“As the King said as the couple were leaving the room and heading to bed, they enjoyed the evening immensely and are looking forward to doing it all again next week,” my source said.
