US political observers say subtle changes in the behaviour and public statements by Donald Trump suggest the possibility of Florida’s high-profile Governor Ron DeSantis being the Republican Party’s 2024 presidential nominee is undermining the usually unshakeable self-confidence of the former US President.
After losing the 2020 election Mr Trump referred to the popular state leader as “Governor DeSantis” but his terminology changed recently to “Ron DeSanctimonious”.
A speech by Mr Trump to a sparsely attended Make America Great Again rally in Georgia yesterday (main picture) indicated just how badly the Florida governor had eroded the former President’s self-confidence.
In a three-hour speech Mr Trump initially referred to Governor DeSantis as “Ron DeSuchacuntface” and later removed all his clothing, enabling him to point at his own genitals whenever he mentioned “Ron DeSuckmycock”.

The former Australian adviser to Myanmar’s deposed leader Aung Sun Suu Kyi detained since February last year says it’s a miracle he is back on home soil.
A plane carrying economist Sean Turnell landed in Melbourne yesterday following his release by Myanmar’s military junta after spending 650 days in jail for allegedly violating espionage laws.
“I can’t believe I made it back to Australia,” Mr Turnell said. “When the Foreign Affairs Department official told me we’d be flying the last leg to Melbourne with Jetstar I confess I lost all hope of ever seeing my wife and family again.
“But by some miracle the Jetstar flight wasn’t abruptly cancelled, leaving us stranded, and here we are,” he said.

News Crap Australia has sought an urgent amendment to the terms and conditions of its membership of the coalition of media organisations behind the Your Right to Know campaign seeking wider access to allegedly secret information that should be published in the public interest.
A company spokesperson said News Crap Australia wanted “a very simple change” involving the addition of an asterisk to the words “Your Right to Know” that would link to a footnote explaining that the circumstances surrounding the departure of any national broadshit editor-in-chief from their position should be exempt from public exposure.
