Our Tweet of the Week judges have placed the blue ribband sash around the contribution, above, from PRGuy and not because it was the cleverest or funniest tweet of the past seven days.
Our judges picked it mainly because it poses a very simple question: is PRGuy right and have the collective mainstream mediocre in Melbourne behaved in such a shitty, biased way that they’ve done more damage to themselves than they every hoped to do to Daniel Andrews and his Labor state government?
Or put another way, have the voters of Victoria seen through all that, have been similarly appalled by the media’s behaviour, and will they once again return Andrews with a solid majority and a third term?
From The Bug‘s point of view, this will be the key lesson from 26 November. We have strongly believed that the right-wing media across Australia have proved virtually toothless in recent times of bending political winds in their chosen direction.
Newscorpse LNP publicity shitsheets in Brisbane – the monopoly The Courier-Mail and The Sunday Mail – have proved themselves totally impotent in stopping Labor’s last three wins at a state level.
Could the Victorian election in just under two weeks prove us and PRGuy wrong? That when you have not just one but two mainstream dailies piling on Andrews, along with 3AW rightwhinger nutjob Neil Mitchell and others, can they do damage to others rather than themselves?
Before we run some other tweets on the Victorian election, below is the Herald Sun splash that PRGuy had referred to. It was just a part of Newscorpse’s ongoing vicious campaign against Andrews over his fall last year and a traffic accident a decade ago involving the family car being driven by his wife.
Other media outlets have joined in the Andrews pile-on, with The Age not far behind the Herald Sun in trying to demonise and destroy the Premier through repeated splashes on corruption commission matters.

Without further ado or comment, here are other Tweet comments on the Victorian election.

And finally on this issue, heres this week’s winner, PRGuy having a discussion with himself.

Let’s turn now to the US mid-terms where the Democrats’ retention of the Senate gave us a glimmer of hope for the future of that country and that perhaps there are more nice people there than dreadful, conspiratorial, election-result denying MAGA cookers with IQs struggling to get into double figures.
The inimitable MFWitches@home.social summed it up fairly well.

And let’s finish, not with a local Tweeter’s view but a meme that sums up those US elections while putting the boot into the media who all chanted the “red wave” line in the leadup to the vote last Tuesday US time.
