QUEENSLAND POLITICS:
One of the Sunshine State’s most rusted-on political activists has shocked friends and colleagues by joining a political party totally opposed to the principles he has espoused for years.
He is Peter Gleeson, Liberal National Party Queensland public relations officer and party fundraising spruiker, who this week stunned many by accepting an invitation to join the Queensland Greens.
In his spare time Gleeson also appears on Sky News After Dark and writes political columns and special wraparounds for The Courier-Mail.

A Greens spokesperson told The Bug earlier this morning: “We have been in awe of recent disclosures that have exposed Peter’s total and absolute commitment to recycling things.
“As a result of that, we have invited him to join the party and we are absolutely chuffed that he has decided to accept that invitation.
“Naturally enough, he has asked what’s in it for him so we are now in the process of looking at seat options for this save-the-planet warrior.
“The clincher was when we said we’d pay for some really shiny green suits for him to wear.”
