….THERE’S TWO OF THEM!

The Media Glass House has often talked about the three Peter van Onselens who work as politics journalists in Oz so why can’t there be two David Crowes?
Say hello first to the David Crowe who (above) happily joined in the mainstream media pile-on of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese last Thursday for humiliating and bullying the Member for Capricornia Michelle Landry.
The MGH is assuming this particular Crowe was roosting up on the press benches and saw the tears in Landry’s eyes after bullyboy Albanese had stared and shouted at her, the beast!
At this stage, the MGH will tweak a wise old saying in journalism – while it may be a tyro reporter’s job to simply report that someone is saying it’s raining outside, the ones who want to get ahead should at least have a look out the window to frame their questioning. And that is doubly true for very, very, senior scribes who stake their reputations on whatever opinion or commentary pieces they throw together. They really do need to look out the window for themselves.
Whether or not Crowe was in the building, here’s the killerline regardless: while dozens of people on Twitter quickly called out Landry’s faux-hurt-feelings bullshit simply by looking at the two-minute plus tape of Landry’s question to the PM, this famous, respected, mainstream politics scribe was too busy to do that, putting online the bullshit shown above.
Was he simply too keen to accept the LNP females’ faux outrage so that he could help do damage to Albanese’s reputation and standing rather than spending just a little bit of time getting at the truth?
So let’s move forward a few days and listen to the other David Crowe, the one who was a panellist on the ABC’s Insiders program.
Brimming with professionalism and perhaps displaying just a hint of distain over what mistakes lesser fourth-estate mortals had made, Crowe Mark 2 made it clear that Albanese’s QT response was directed at Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and never towards Landry and that her claims, with the full support of her female colleagues, of bullying were rubbish – our word to sum up what he said.
We’ll let one of The Bug‘s most cherished Tweeters, Ronni Salt, sum things up…

Another of Ronni’s tweets puts some clever questions to one or both of the Crowes. The MGH will run the replies if either or both Crowes respond.

So, what punishment is The Courier-Mail editor Chris Jones going to dish out to staffer Peter Gleeson for stealing another scribe’s work?
Jones has admitted that Gleeson plagiarised another journo’s words in putting together a 12-page wraparound hatchet job on Queensland Premier Annastacia Plascczuk in Saturday’s issue.
Shit, the MGH almosts feels sorry for Jones. Imagine having to punish someone who epitomises what this “newspaper” now is and what it stands for.
