AUSTIN, TEXAS: Elon Musk says his takeover of Twitter is part of a bigger long-term plan he has been developing to exploit new opportunities made possible by leveraging the technology used by the various businesses he owns.
Mr Musk said the first such opportunity would be realised in coming days when he unveils the use of artificial intelligence software allowing Tesla vehicles to tweet at each other. (main picture)
“It’s just the first of such synergies I’ll be exploiting that are now possible with the technology used by my various high-tech businesses,” Mr Musk said.
“Just wait until my orbiting SpaceX rockets can use text-to-speech technology and huge supersonic speakers to broadcast Donald Trump’s tweets live to all 8 billion people around the globe,” he said.

CANBERRA: The Albanese Government will amalgamate several probes into the actions of former prime minister Scott Morrison.
The government last week asked the Attorney-General’s Department to check if Mr Morrison broke any laws when revealing details of national security matters to two journalists for their book Plagued.
He is also facing investigation by the “robodebt” inquiry and another probe is examining his secret assumption of ministerial powers in five cabinet portfolios.
A spokesperson for the Albanese Government said for greater efficiency and to save taxpayers’ funds a single all-encompassing inquiry would be formed.
“It will have very simple terms of reference,” the spokesperson said. “In fact I should have said ‘term of reference’ because it will simply seek to determine if Scott Morrison is a lying narcissistic arsehole.
“While the separate inquiries would have dragged on for months we expect the single jumbo inquiry will now be done and dusted within a day, maybe a few hours, or minutes.”

MIAMI, FLORIDA: Former US President Donald Trump has defended a message he posted on his Truth Social platform in the wake of the vicious hammer attack on the husband of US Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Mr Trump said “lying liberal Democrats” would have criticised any response he made to the incident.
“My brief post on Truth Social sought to express my sentiments about the attack but also to put the circumstances into context for anyone who hadn’t followed the story,” he said.
In his post Mr Trump had said: “I am very sorry. Nancy wasn’t home.”
