AUSTRALIAN MAINSTREAM MEDIA:
BRISBANE: A senior journalist with Channel 9 News in the Sunshine State capital has been summarily sacked overnight and escorted from the station’s newsroom (above) after pitching a really stupid and rather naive story idea to his news editor.
The Bug understands that in a total and unforgiveable brain fade moment, the senior reporter of some decades standing suggested that whenever a Queensland or Australian political story was being covered and prepared, the station should, at least now and then, run the relevant government minister’s input first before several longer grabs from Opposition spokespeople.
“I just thought it would be nice to do that ever so occasionally, especially if the topic was, say a Queensland or Australian government initiative or announcement of little or no controversy and with general public support,” the scribe shouted as security showed him the door.
Former colleagues stood at windows at Channel 9’s Brisbane studios and sarcastically slow-clapped and jeered the paper’s former staffer, who is still to be identified, as he was bundled into a Uber.
“You fucking moron,” shouted one.
“Go work for the corrupt and incompetent Palaszczuk government,” added another.
“Good point, Tim!” agreed a third.

A major feud is brewing at The Sydney Morning Herald over the $3500 paid for each article by regular weekend columnist Parnell Palme McGuinness (pictured below).
The Bug understands that the masthead’s owner, Nine Entertainment Co, and its chairman Peter Costello, are standing firm in their demands that McGuinnness should pay more.
