Dutton denies misspeaking claim

CANBERRA: Federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton (pictured above) has reacted angrily to claims at the end of the ABC’s Insiders program this morning that he had made a fool of himself in Parliament when talking of Queen Elizabeth’s annus horribilis.

The show’s anchor David Speers appeared to smirk as he suggested Mr Dutton had misspoken and needed to brush up on his Latin pronunciation skills.

“I pronounced those words exactly as I intended to,” Mr Dutton said, “to convey clearly and precisely what an absolute shit of a year Her Majesty had endured.”
