
LONDON: Metropolitan police here are still seeking legal advice as to whether they can charge a cricket fan who brazenly waved a quarter of the Australian flag at the England-South Africa Test match at The Oval earlier this week (pictured above).
While it is an offence to destroy the flag in Australia, the local constabulary need to determine whether a charge can still be laid if the flag had been so shamefully desecrated in Great Britain and the man has so far refused to answer any questions.
Poll boost for Dutton and Ley
CANBERRA: There’s good news in the latest New Gov poll for federal Opposition Leader Peter Dutton (right) and his Deputy Sussan Ley.

Taken from last Thursday to Sunday, the poll shows that 76 per cent of respondents believe Dutton and Ley are doing an excellent job in their current positions and they hope the leadership pair continue to stay in those roles for many years to come.
Station downplays loss to rival network
SYDNEY: Channel Nine bosses here have downplayed the overnight news that the network has lost the hosting rights to the annual Logies award night to long-time bitter rivals Channel 7.
“It’s only one night of the year,” a senior executive scoffed, “and Karl can get rolling drunk anywhere!”
