Mint welcomes decision to axe royalty!

The Australian Mint has welcomed today’s decision by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to cease using images of United Kingdom royalty on Australian currency.

“To be honest with you, the mint’s graphic designers were having enormous difficulty creating an image of the new monarch, King Charles the Third, that would fit neatly on one side of the $5 note, given it is the smallest we print,” a mint spokesperson said from Perth.
