Morrisons set to reveal all

Scott Morrisons will appear on ABC TV’s Q&A program tonight to “fully explain” their decision to secretly assume roles as minister in a range of portfolios during the last term of Federal Parliament.

Speaking during a familiarisation visit to the ABC’s Sydney studios (above) Messers Morrison said they were looking forward to “setting the record straight”.

“Or in our case, setting the records straight,” they said.

In a break with tradition the ABC has agreed to allow one of the Morrisons to also host tonight’s program, although it is yet to nominate which one.

Previously scheduled host Stan Grant said he was happy to stand aside for one of the Morrisons and was ready to provide intensive earnestness and pontification training through today to prepare the chosen Morrison for the role.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has unveiled his commitment to implementing a new system of “reverse pork barrelling” when returned to office in Canberra.

“I will always dispute that when the Coalition was in office we deliberately skewed the delivery of taxpayer funded programs towards our own seats,” Mr Dutton said.

“But despite the facts, there was clearly a perception among voters at the May election that we were doing that.”

Mr Dutton said he had personally devised “reverse pork barrelling” which he would implement as prime minister for selected government programs.

“As an example, I have proposed the development of a nuclear power industry to deliver  secure power 24/7 with zero emissions

“I can guarantee that when we win office the nuclear program will be the first to be delivered through my reverse pork-barrelling model and every single nuclear reactor will be in a Labor seat,” Mr Dutton explained.

News that Queen Elizabeth will miss a meeting of her key advisory group, the Privy Council, has been attributed to “episodic mobility issues”.

A royal family spokesperson said the recurring “mobility issues” were an ongoing concern which required them to rearrange Her Majesty’s official schedule at short notice.

“Her Majesty will often have a mobility issue in the afternoon, sometimes two or three. On other days she has one mid-morning,” the spokesperson said.

“What’s starting to concern us is that she is often asking for a mobility issue for breakfast, with ice and lots of lemon.”
